Respiratory Protection (RP) and Respiratory Protection Administrator (RPA)(29 CFR 1920.134)
- This exceptional 4-6 hour, hands-on RP course meets OSHA’s requirements detailed in 29 CFR 1910.134. Training covers the specific type of respiratory protection used by your company (i.e. air purifying, powered air purifying, airline, self-contained breathing apparatus, etc.). Each participant learns that putting on a respirator—regardless of its intended purpose—and going to work doesn’t meet the standards. Certain requirements must be met for an individual to be compliant and to prevent injury or illness.
- In 29 CFR 1910.134(c), OSHA requires that your respiratory program be managed by a “suitably trained program administrator.” This RPA course builds from the RP course. Once an individual understands the fundamentals of respiratory protection, they are taught how to administer the program, fit test workers, monitor proper use, clean and maintain respirators, and much more.
- This course can be designed to meet any site-specific Respiratory Protection Program. Clients are encouraged to provide the NIOSH/MSHA-approved respirators used by its employees. REMEMBER: OSHA requires a complete medical evaluation for each respirator wearer prior to wearing a respirator (in training or otherwise). Safety, Inc. can perform any and all types of fit testing for respirators and wearers.
