Radiation Safety and Consultation
- Capabilities include permanent or temporary assignment of a Radiation Safety Officer to provide analysis of exposure control and assessment, radioactive and naturally occurring radioactive material management, radioactive source use, and instrumentation use and calibration. Consultations may include:
- Radiation Protection Management (DOE or NRC)
- Radiation Material Management (DOE or NRC)
- Radioactive Source Management (DOE or NRC)
- Emergency Response Mobility
- Non-Ionizing and Ionizing Radiation Assessment
- Gamma and Alpha Spectroscopy
- Liquid Scintillation Analysis
- Gross Alpha Beta Activity
- Radon Detection and Background
- Health physics programs will be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, 20 CFR), and/or the Department of Energy (DOE, 10 CFR), and the requisite state. Consultation may also include procedural and permit development and revision.
- Radiation, contamination, and radioactive airborne monitoring provides routine or emergency survey operations such as:
- Unrestricted Release Surveys
- Large Area Release Surveys
