Fall Protection Awareness and Competent Person (29 CFR 1926, Subpart M, 1910.23, ANSI Z359)
- In the United States, the number one cause of death in construction and the number two cause of death for general industry are from falls. This 2-hour awareness course provides participants with the general knowledge of various fall protection systems in accordance with OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 standards. Safety, Inc.’s focus is primarily on the Fall Arrest System of fall protection.
- The 8-hour Fall Protection Competent Person course comprehensively trains participants on OSHA’s 29 CFR Subpart M, Fall Protection Standard and the General Industry standard of 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D Walking & Working Surfaces, as well as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z359 Series standards. Each participant must pass a difficult examination, conduct inspections on fall arrest equipment, and develop a fall protection plan prior to completion and certification.
- Participants are required to assess several job sites for fall hazards, develop an appropriate and OSHA-compliant fall protective system, and create a fall rescue plan based on the type of fall protection system to be used by company employees.
