Excavation Standard/Competent Person (29 CFR 1926 Subpart P)

• Competency is demonstrated not certified.  Safety, Inc. will provide your designated trenching/excavation competent person the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to comply with OSHA’s 29 CFR 1926.650 standard.
• This 8-hour course covers the general requirements for excavations, soil analysis and protective systems.  Protective systems include sloping and benching, timber shoring, trench boxes and aluminum hydraulic shoring.  Participants will be required to evaluate an actual trench and design a protective system that meets the OSHA regulation. Installation of a protective system or our aluminum hydraulic shoring is required for successful completion of this course.
