Boom Crane Operator Training (29 CFR 1910.180, 1926 Subpart CC, ANSI B30.5)
- OSHA expects crane operators to be trained and competent. Our extensive crane operator’s course provides the knowledge necessary for beginners and seasoned operators to make safe, compliant decisions in the field. This training is based on the OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and the NCCCO preparation class. Participants will be challenged in this difficult operator’s course. Calculators and functioning brains are required. Most participants have “homework” after the first and second days of class. The attrition (failure) rate in this class is 10%. Your company can be confident that participants who pass this technical course will have the necessary knowledge to operate a crane safely.
- This 24-hour course covers fundamental crane theory of operation, hoisting and rigging, signal person, planning, site set-up, pick and carry, critical lifts, load chart calculations, and a hands-on practical exercise. The client is encouraged to provide the specific crane for the hands-on evaluation; although a crane can be provided by Safety, Inc. at an additional cost.
- OSHA’s new (2010) Construction regulation (Subpart CC) requires a higher level of training than previously mandated. If you are performing crane operations in construction, we can guide you towards full compliance with the new regulations.
