Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness
or Certified Operator
- The 2-hour awareness course meets the OSHA H2S requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1200 (Hazard Communication) and the American National Standards Institute standard Z390.1. It provides the requisite information for participants to recognize H2S hazards, know physiological effects, and understand emergency response actions.
- The 8-hour certified operator course meets the OSHA HAZCOM and ANSI Z390.1 requirements for working in an H2S environment. It requires the participant to understand hydrogen sulfide characteristics, sources of emission, physiological effects of exposure, area and personnel controls, respiratory protection, air plume modeling, and emergency response. You will be required to wear an SCBA in this course. This course will challenge the most seasoned oil & gas contractor – don’t expect the same old H2S course you’ve been getting the last decade.
- Participants who successfully complete the 8-hour course will receive a certificate of completion good for 1-year, H2S Operator card, and hardhat sticker.
